Agamenon’s dream and Boeotia

Zeus sent a dream to Agamemnon transfigured as Nestor so that he would withdraw all troops from Troy.

The next morning when Agamemnon woke up, without delay he met with his council of generals and told them the dream, but these, perplexed, doubted his words. In turn, the heralds loudly called all the troops to come to the agora and it was there that the king of kings spoke of his dream to all the Greeks.

The news of ending the war and returning to their lands was received amid a great bustle, because the crowd was already tired of so many years away from home so they rushed to start the return, until Odysseus convinced the bulk of the soldiers to stay and fight for Troy.
