The language spoken by the heroes

Surprisingly, among the multitude of historical researches about the characters who, in the early nineteenth century, achieved the independence of the American republics, they have only minimally focused -or not focused at all- on the language that these used.

Although we know a lot about the life and thoughts of the great men of the time, we also know a lot about their Spanish, through which those thoughts were expressed and their lives lived.

The purpose of this collection is to shed light on the situation presented by the Spanish language of different regions of the New World, in the period marked between 1810 and 1830, not only as a way to contribute to the historical characterization of the heroes who emancipated these nations, but also as a contribution to the history of the Spanish of America, most pressing and fascinating in the nineteenth century.
