48 games for the Spanish class

The book 48 games for the Spanish class offers forty-eight games and more than fifty variants for the Spanish class as a second or foreign language.

All games have been tested in groups of different language levels, ages, mother tongues and nationalities, always with successful results.

The games are arranged in cards according to the objectives they pursue. Each card begins mentioning these objectives (with special focus on those of a linguistic nature) and, if required, the materials necessary to carry out the game (a photo, a bag, etc). Then the procedure is explained, which in many cases is accompanied by variants in complexity level or theme. Of course, these variants are not exhaustive: teachers will be able to invent many others according to the contents they wish to practice, the level of his group and their own creativity.

ABOUT THE SELECTION

From the game point of view, the selection presents a great typological variety: games of skill, personal challenge, competition, collaboration, simulation, association, riddles, board games and others that involve movement.

Regarding the language itself, we can distinguish between those games that focus on the meaning of words and those connected to grammatical structures and communicative functions.

Some games require the handling of certain sociocultural, historical or geographical information. There are also those that focus on oral or written interaction and those that require skills such as inferring meaning, paraphrasing, finding synonyms or antonyms, deducting rules, building word families, exploring syntax, and others.
