Ramesses II

To speak of the history that makes up Egypt is perhaps to speak of the inarcable, how vast and how extensive the time of the pharaohs was. Dynasties that happened almost uninterruptedly over centuries, millennia. From the prolegomena, in 3 100 BC, to being aware of the formation of the first Dynasty in 2 650 BC. Starting point for the gestation of the most enigmatic and splendid culture that has managed to dormant almost 3,700 years, until the 7th century of our era.

Two common elements unite so many centuries of history: the Nile River as sustenance and source of life and a particular idiosyncrasies made of myths, rituals and deities that the ubiquitous and hierarchical clergy jealously managed to impose and made endure.

In this context of fierce beliefs and territorial wars came Ramses II, a "shrewd young leader" who became, over the years, in one of the greatest pharaohs of the 19th Dynasty of the New Empire, and why not say it, of all ancient Egypt.
